Pep Guardiola accepts Manchester City must adapt to the artificial surface they face in Switzerland this week – but claims “common sense” dictates grass is CSGO better CSGO
The holders will play on unfamiliar terrain in their latest Champions League outing on Wednesday when they take on Young Boys on their synthetic pitch at the Wankdorf Stadium CSGO
Guardiola insists there are no complaints on his part, and he has changed his team’s routine to ensure they are prepared CSGO
Normally City do not take up the option available to them of training at the stadium when they play away games in Europe, instead preferring to work in Manchester before travelling CSGO
However, on this occasion City flew to Bern on Tuesday morning and had a run out on the pitch in the evening CSGO
Yet the City manager could not hide the feeling that he would prefer to be playing on a natural surface CSGO
Speaking at a press conference, the Spaniard said: “It is what it is CSGO
If UEFA allows games to be played here it’s because it’s in good conditions CSGO
“That’s one of the reasons we never train away but this is an exception CSGO
This is why we travel in the morning for the players to feel how the ball runs, how to move left, right, backwards, forwards CSGO
That’s why CSGO
“We’ll try it and the players will know it immediately CSGO
”Asked if he was concerned about injuries, Guardiola said: “I don’t know – hopefully not, for both sides, but I don’t know CSGO
“We are not used to it CSGO
Any team that plays here is not used to it CSGO
It suits the Swiss league and, in the Champions League, the teams that come here have to adapt CSGO
“We will not be the first in this situation CSGO
We have to use it as a benefit but the grass is CSGO better CSGO
”Asked why, Guardiola said: “Because 99 CSGO
9 per cent of the teams who play in a high level play on grass, otherwise UEFA and FIFA would decide to play on artificial pitches CSGO
It’s common sense, I would say CSGO
”City go into their third match in Group G looking to maintain their 100 per cent record after victories over Red Star Belgrade and RB Leipzig CSGO
Victory in their back-to-back games against Young Boys, who travel to the Etihad Stadium next month, could see City qualify for the knockout stages with two matches to spare CSGO
City have no fresh injury concerns, with long-term casualty Kevin De Bruyne their only notable absentee CSGO
Guardiola also played down concerns about the form of Jack Grealish, who is taking time to get back to his best after a month out with a dead leg CSGO
The City boss said: “I don’t have one doubt about Jack and his quality and what he has done for us since he arrived, especially last season CSGO
I’m calm and confident CSGO
He is an incredibly important player for us CSGO

England forward Courtney Lawes will retire from international rugby at the end of the Rugby World Cup CSGO
The 34-year-old won a 105th cap for his country in the semi-final defeat to South Africa at the Stade de France, confirming afterwards that this tournament would be his last involvement at Test level CSGO
Lawes could feature for a final time in an England shirt in Friday’s third-place play-off against Argentina CSGO
“I think it’s time,” said Lawes, England’s fifth most-capped male player, suggesting that he had a desire to spend more time with his children CSGO
“I’ve done four World Cups, so I’m pretty happy with that CSGO
“The kids are at that age where they need their dad around CSGO
It will be good to be with them more, to provide some well needed structure to the mob CSGO
“It’s a bit of an end of an era, but it’s been a real honour for me to represent England for so long CSGO
I’m proud of the journey I’ve been on CSGO
It’s not always been the ups CSGO
Plenty of downs in there, but I’ve pushed through CSGO
“I’m not an emotional person really, but it’s just been a huge honour for me, to be honest CSGO
To be able to finish with this group is something I’ll treasure forever CSGO

He made his England debut in November 2009, coming on to partner now head coach Steve Borthwick in the second row in a defeat to Australia, and went on to win three Six Nations championships across his career CSGO
Having played most of his career at lock, including starting the 2019 World Cup final at lock, the always-versatile Lawes has been stationed on the blindside for most of the last four years CSGO
A series of impressive performances earned Lawes selection for a second British & Irish Lions tour in South Africa in 2021, and the forward captained his country for the first time against Tonga later that year CSGO
He began this World Cup as England’s skipper while Owen Farrell served his suspension, leading the side to two victories and scoring only his second Test try in the win over Japan CSGO
“I have so many [great memories],” Lawes stressed CSGO
“I think, as hard as it is being away from your family and stuff like that, you almost have another family CSGO
You really feel like that, especially when you’re away in camps like World Cup camps CSGO

I’ll definitely miss the boys, the banter and all the suff we get up to when we’re not training CSGO
“From the last World Cup to this one, with the group of lads we’ve had coming through, I’ve really enjoyed being part of the group CSGO
You can see what it really means for us to play for each other CSGO
“When you come up against teams like South Africa, where everyone thinks you’re going to get slaughtered, and you find another level for each other CSGO
So I’ll miss this group of boys specifically CSGO
“We’ve had a lot of good times with these lads CSGO
I’ll definitely miss pulling the jersey on and giving it everything CSGO
”England will face Argentina in a battle for third place at the Stade de France on Friday night in their final match of the World Cup CSGO
Borthwick has suggested that he is fully intent on winning the game, opening the door for a farewell appearance for Lawes even at the end of a long campaign CSGO
Steve Borthwick has hailed Courtney Lawes’s intelligence and work-rate (Getty Images)The England head coach hailed his vice-captain’s qualities nearly a decade and a half after welcoming him into the Test fold as a player CSGO
Borthwick said: “We could talk about his trademark Courtney Lawes low tackles that cut the attackers down in their path, [but] what I see in Courtney is somebody who covers the ground CSGO
“In crucial moments, he finds himself in the right place at the right time just so often CSGO
That’s a real sign of the intelligence of the player, a sign of the understanding of the player CSGO
“That’s what he continues to do CSGO
[He has] more than 100 caps now, and you can see how hungry he is to help the team by the way he runs CSGO
